Friday Night Lights TV Series:

The series was adapted from a novel by the same name. It was written by H. G. Bissinger and was published in 1990. 14 years after the book a movie was released by the same name. Friday night lights movie was released in 2004.

You can check the Internet Movie Database for the movie and its review. Shortly after that in 2006, Peter Berg developed the TV series by the same name. The first two season of the show was a major hit in United States.

What made the show a success? The show turned out to be great family show which had a very good sports thrill in it. It provoked optimism in the people and showed the true nature of American Dream. Let’s now talk about the story of the show.

The series revolved around a football coach named Taylor, his wife Tami and the High School football team situated in Dillon Texas. This small city was fictional. Series depicts the journey of the small football team making it to the spotlight.

The show gives a good peak at how a good relationship should be. Tyler and Tami gives a prefect example for that.  The characters of the show remind people of different things about life rather than manipulating things to make a major twist.

Popularity of the show:

The show was very popular in its initial seasons. The first two seasons got around 6 million view per episode. However, after that the view consistently kept on decreasing. It came down to 3.6 million by the end of the series, i.e., season 5.

However, do not go on the ratings. The show created a large number of fans who were disheartened when the show stopped. The production team released the DVD of each season. So if you are missing the show as much as I do buy a DVD and re-live the moments.

Where are the cast?
